I have no idea what happened to August, but I just realized that it’s already been two weeks since my last update here. I’ve had a number of possible topics swirling around in my head, most of them quite heavy, but I can’t pin down a proper thesis to work from, so no actual posts have yet emerged.
So instead, enjoy more photos that I promised a long time ago of some of my adventures earlier this summer. These are from Newport, Rhode Island.

I tried to comfort the stone lion and tell him that soon Aslan would come and bring him back to life, but I don’t think he heard me.

Part of the view (and part of the Atlantic) from Rosecliff’s “backyard”
Wow. Those are lovely. And the one of Rosecliff’s “backyard” makes me want to offer to commit a number of crimes in order to have it.
It is veeerrrrry tempting.
I visited Newport as well but lacking for time, stuck to the Vanderbilt homes and didn’t get to see Rosecliff. Gorgeous! Thanks for posting.
Glad you enjoyed the photos! I thought I’d taken more of the houses, but I guess I was overawed and forgot to use my camera half the time.
